Tread is only one factor
A tyre can also be unsuitable because of cuts, bulges, cracking, exposed cords, impact damage or an unsafe repair. Check current official rules and seek physical inspection.
Uneven wear needs a cause
Wear on one shoulder, the centre or isolated areas can point to pressure, alignment, suspension or wheel issues. Replacing the tyre alone may not solve the cause.
Pressure loss and punctures
Repair suitability depends on damage location, size, internal condition, previous repairs and how the tyre was driven while underinflated.
Age and use
Low-mileage tyres can deteriorate through age, storage, sunlight, temperature and pressure. Consider condition, manufacturer guidance and duty.
After fitting
Confirm pressure, sensor status, balance and wheel-nut guidance. Monitor vibration or renewed pressure loss.
